I listen to the radio-luckily we have 2 very good PBS stations here or podcasts--when I'm not thinking verbally--can't listen to words and think words at the same time. I know what you mean about silence though--sometimes it's wonderful, sometimes not. Podcasts are wonderful company though, mostly free, and so many subjects to choose from.
